Collecting exlibris opens up new vistas on art and can put you into contact with artists and fellow collectors from all over the world. The German Exlibris Society, founded in 1891, is the oldest exlibris society. Its purpose is to promote, cultivate and study the art of exlibris.

Members of the DEG:
- can participate in the yearly Congress which has exhibitions and exchange rooms where you can meet collectors and artists from all over the world
- will receive 3 Newsletters ("Mitteilungen"), each year, containing current information on exlibris, and a yearbook ("Jahrbuch"), containing original art and research as well as other publications such as an artist's register with work lists from time to time.
